'Witch-accuser' must pay R1 000

Tzaneen - A Limpopo woman has been found guilty of accusing someone of being a witch.
Roslina Ngobeni, 46, of Nwamitwa village near Tzaneen opted to pay a fine of R1 000 instead of spending six months in jail.
Ritavi magistrate's court heard that, after the death of her mother in December, Ngobeni accused a mourner of practising witchcraft and causing her mother's death.
The mourner reported the matter to the police.
In passing sentence, the magistrate said people should stop blaming their misfortunes on witches. - NewsFirst
