6/2/05 Police Search for Missing Woman

Police Search for Missing Woman

A Whitehall woman vanished seemingly without a trace nearly two months ago, and police detectives say they haven't a clue regarding the whereabouts of Tina Wilson.

Now, the story is taking on a bizarre twist with indications of foul play.

"It’s a very strange mystery. I don't know any other way to put it,” Whitehall Police Detective Dan Kelso told 10TV.

Detective Kelso has spent the better part of two months searching for clues.

"Every day when I come to work, I think I'll pop in and Tina's back. But that's not the case. Nothing has changed," Kelso said.

The 43-year-old suddenly disappeared late in April.

“We have no idea where she's at. The circumstances are strange, and there is some indication of foul play, because of the things left behind."

"She's left behind her car, still parked at the apartment. She left behind her paycheck,” Kelso said.

She also didn't report for work at an east side Wendy's where co-workers describe Wilson as a very hard working, very good employee.

"For her not to show up and not call her manager would be extremely out of the ordinary," Kelso said. "We're approaching two months with no contact with anyone we know of."

Investigators now say they have unearthed new evidence that ties Wilson to a lifestyle no one imagined.

"She was involved in witchcraft and Wicca," Kelso said.

Detectives suspect her beliefs, in some way, may have contributed to her disappearance.

"Maybe she felt like she needed to be somewhere else," Kelso said.

Anyone with any information about Wilson or her whereabouts is being asked to contact Whitehall Police at 614-237-6333.

Since when does someone's spiritual life suddenly confirm for police that 'something suspicious' happen in their disappearance. And since when does being part of the witchcraft community suddenly mean that your participation in that community mean that THAT had something directly linked to your disappearance??? SO had the found 'evidence' that she was Roman Catholic would they have proclaimed that they were sure that her involvement in Roman Catholism had something to do with her 'mysterious disappearance'? ARGH!
